Newer iPhones have a built-in NFC reader that is always on, while some other, older models require you to press the scan button in Control Center on iPhone or quick settings on Android devices. The v-CARD also has a QR code that can be scanned to load the profile, if NFC is unavailable.
v-CARD works using two technologies. The “Tap” feature works using NFC technology, which most new phones have. Simply hold the v-CARD near the top of the phone, it will usually activate before the card even touches the phone. Older phones like the iPhone 6 and older models do not support NFC. The v-CARD also has a QR code that can be scanned as a backup. Some Android devices have scanners closer to the bottom of the device.
